OUR STORY
The Berwick family moved into Barbarafield in 1871 and 4 generations later Christine Berwick opened the Riding School in 1956 with family ponies Rosie, Petronella, Lindora and Diamond. The farm is located near Cupar in North East Fife, 15 minites from StAndrews. We offer everything from a 20 miniute intro to riding session to a 3 hour experienced hack, with kids half day or full day "pony experiences" during the holidays and lessons during term time. Our very popular 1 hour farmland rides go out daily throughout the year. We are open Tuesday- Sunday throughout the year.

Are You Ready?
POPULAR HACKS
The Hacks are very popular as all experiences can be catered for on the routes.
The rides go through the 300 acres of farmland owned by the Berwick family and use the local tracks and newly opened Pilgrimes Way. The ride can be split into smaller groups in the fields so experienced riders can have a canter while the novices or beginners can take a short cut for a walk and a trot to catch up.
FUN ACTIVITYS
There are fun days held for the children during the school holidays (1/2 day and full day) as well as fun lessons which include pony club games
2 hour and 3 hour hacks are available on request. Our three hour trek covers 20 km of land! These fast paced, scenic rides take you off the farm therefore riders must be confident in walk, trot and canter.
CATER TO ALL
Instruction is given as and when required by qualified instructors.
For the little ones, we have a 20 min intro or a half-hour instructional hack which is a great start to horse riding.
Once the trotting is mastered we move them on to the hour hacks.
MORE ABOUT BARBARAFIELD
We are based on a working farm, therefore at different times of the year we can be calving or lambing, hay making or combining all of which can be seen from the back of a horse!! We go out in all weather with the exception of ice, hurricane force winds and lightening. Please dress according the the weather.

DO I NEED MY OWN EQUIPMENT
No, we have a wide selection of riding hats and boots here available to borrow. Any shoe or boot with a heel is suitable. We do recommend gloves especially in winter!
